Fedor Stroganov

Fedor Stroganov, one of the most remarkable Russian organists, harpsichordists and composers, was born in Moscow in 1968. During his musical studies in Moscow State Conservatory music college he started taking organ classes with Galina Semenova and Alexey Shmitov. At the same time he studied writing music with Konstantin Batashov.

 

 In 1993, Fedor Stroganov graduated from the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where he studied with Alexey Parshin (organ) and Albert Leman (composing). In 1992-1993 he studied a course in the Paris National Conservatory as an organist and composer with Michel Shapuis and Olivier Latry. In 1995 Fedor finished post-graduate course of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory (organ class of professor N. Gureeva).

 

In 2001 – 2002  Fedor got diplomas at the International Mikhael Tariverdiev Organ Competition (for artistry and the best perfomance) and Moscow Composing competition (for the best composition for organ) , he became  a prize-winner at the International Organ Competition in Volgograd (2002).

 

Fedor Stroganov started his career as a soloist when he was still a student. He took part in many concerts as an organist playing baroque and romantic music. He participated as an organist, harpsichordist  and composer in different  festivals like “Moscow autumn”, “Musicarte”, Haydn Festival in Esterhaz, Mozart Festival in Wurzburg, San Francisco contemporary music festival, Festival of early music in Thun (Switzerland), Lockenhaus festival and others.

 

 At present Fedor shares his activity  with many well-known ensembles, such as “Kremlin orchestra”, ”Telemann consort”,  “Baroque soloists”, and musicians (Peter Schreier, Marc Tucker, Emanuel Borok, Michel Tirabosco, Jana Ivanilova)

He is a professor of Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory (chamber ensemble, bass-continuo, harpsichord) and conducts a choir in  Maloe Voznesenie Church near Conservatory.
